USS S-39 (SS-143) was a United States Navy S-class submarine that joined the Philippine Navy after the Second American Civil War. Shortly after the Japanese attack on the Philippines, she ran aground and was subsequently abandoned.
Her keel was laid on January 14th, 1919 by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, San Francisco, California. She was launched on July 2nd, 1919 sponsored by Miss Clara M. Huber, and commissioned on September 14th, 1923 with Lieutenant John A. Scott in command. She was abandoned on August 13th, 1942.
