Republic of Japan Armed Forces

The Republic of Japan Armed Forces (日本軍の共和国 Nippongun no kyōwakoku) are the unified military forces of the Republic of Japan. Their primary focus is the defense of West Japan against East Japan, Korea, and the People's Republic of China. In 2010, the West Japanese military had 262,000 active duty personnel (Air Force: 52,000; Army: 151,200; Navy: 58,800) and a budget of ₤45.255 billion pounds/$69.755 billion dollars (3.5% of its gross domestic product).
