The People's Republic of Transpacifica, or simply Transpacifica, is one of the ten constituent republics of the Union of American People's Republics. Transpacifica consists of the territory of the former U.S. territory of Hawaii, as well as various other Pacific islands. Transpacifica is the smallest American republic, both by area and by population, but it has played important roles, historically. Pearl Harbor is a major American naval base; an attack against it by the Empire of Japan signaled the beginning of the Pacific theater of World War II. Most fighting involving American forces during the war took place in Transpacifica, and it was enlarged after the war when America took possession of Japanese colonies. Transpacifica also includes Wake Island, where the Wake Island Association was formed.
