The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-9 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-9) was the first (and only) turbojet fighter developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich. It was powered by a home-grown version of the BMW 003 engines that the Germans had handed over in 1943 as a 'sign of good will'.

In June 1945, MiG-9s engaged a group of sixteen Meteors, escorting a small group of Lancaster strategic bombers attacking military infrastructure in East Prussia.[1]
