Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (Armenian: Մեծամորի ատոմային էլեկտրակայան, Metsamori Atomayin Elektrakayan) is a Soviet nuclear power plant in the South Caucasus, located 36 kilometers west of Yerevan, in Metsamor. It contains one VVER-440 reactor, with a new VVER-1000 reactor planned. Currently, the plant provides about 40% of Armenia's electricity.
