HMCS Bonaventure (R C02) was an Implacable-class aircraft carrier of the Royal Canadian Navy which served during World War II. It was the first aircraft carrier to be built in Canada.

In early 1943, the Bonaventure would be damaged by Japanese aircraft during an attack on a Japanese base near Bengkulu.[1]. Bonaventure would spend several months docked at Darwin undergoing repairs.[2]

In June 1943, the Bonaventure and Vimy Ridge were part of the Allied naval forces providing support to Allied troops invading French Indochina.[3]

Due to damage sustained in the Second World War, the Bonaventure was unable to be modernized like its sister ship, the Vimy Ridge and ended up being scrapped in the 1950s.
