The CCDM Cygnus is a double-decker, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner designed by CCDM, a joint venture by CAMCO of the Republic of China, Canadair of Canada, de Havilland of the British Empire, and Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm of Germany. The first customers of the Cygnus were Air TransCanada, British Airways, China Airlines, and Lufthansa. The first commercial flight was British Airways Flight 510 from London to Singapore on October 30th, 2000. It is one of the world's largest airliners, having a slightly smaller capacity than the Airbus A380 but a somewhat higher top speed. The Cygnus can seat 500 passengers in a three-class configuration or 800 in an all-economy configuration, and has a range of 8,500 nautical miles (15,742 kilometers) and a cruising speed of 500 knots (926 km/h, Mach 0.76). The longest CCDM route-and longest scheduled commercial flight in the world-is Perth to London at 7,843 nautical miles (14,525 kilometers), operated by Qantas as flight QF7.
